Good morning, gentlemen. I'm Chris Muina, and it's time for another Man Up Moment. And this week, we're continuing our study in Proverbs, with today's devotion being about building your life on God's wisdom. Proverbs chapter 3, verses 19 through 20 says, The Lord by wisdom founded the earth. By understanding he established the heavens. By his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds dropped down the dew. As men, we spend a lot of time building. We build our careers, we build our businesses, we build homes, we build families, we build reputations. Every day we're laying bricks that will eventually become the legacy that we leave behind. But here's the question Solomon challenges us with. Wisdom is baked into the DNA of existence, meaning reality operates best when we live according to God's intended order. God's intelligent design extends to even the most complex and minute details of nature. From the underground water systems to the water cycle that brings life giving rain to the development of a cell into a baby. The earth was designed with systems that perfectly replenish themselves. Think about that for a moment. The same God who designed the galaxies also knows how to build a strong marriage. The same God who keeps the planets in orbit knows how to lead your family. The same God who established the foundations of the earth knows who how to establish your life. Yet how often do we try to build without consulting the master builder? As men, we can fall into the trap of believing we have to figure out everything out on our own. We rely on experience, instinct, or what culture says is success. We push harder, work longer, and carry heavier burdens, hoping our strength will be enough. But strength without wisdom eventually becomes exhaustion. Hard work without God's direction can lead you to climb the wrong ladder. You can spend years building something impressive in the world's eyes while neglecting the things that matter most. Your walk with God, your marriage, your children, your character. A house can look beautiful from the outside and still have a cracked foundation. The same is true of a man's life. God isn't looking for men who simply build bigger, he's looking for men who build wisely. That means making decisions based on his word instead of our emotions. It means choosing integrity when compromise would be easier. It means investing in our families before our hobbies. It means leading with humility instead of pride. It means praying before reacting. Every strong structure starts with a solid foundation. And Jesus echoed this truth when he spoke about the wise man who built his house on the rock. Storms came to both houses, but only one remains standing because it was built on the right foundation. So men, storms are coming, financial pressure, family challenges, health concerns, unexpected setbacks. The goal isn't to avoid the storm, and God's plan is not always for the storm to blow over. The goal is to be standing when it passes, for your foundation is to be tested. And that only happens when our lives are built on the wisdom of God. So here's your man up challenge. Today, take inventory of the foundation you're building on. Ask yourself, am I making my biggest decisions based on God's wisdom or my own? Then choose one area of your life, your marriage, your parenting, your finances, work, personal habits, and invite God into it. Before making your next significant decision, stop and pray. Lord, show me the wise way to build. One prayer of dependence can keep you from months or even years of rebuilding. Strong men don't just work hard. Godly men build wisely. Let's pray. Father, thank you for being the master builder of all creation. The same wisdom that formed the heavens is available to guide our lives each day. Forgive us of the times we relied on our own understanding instead of seeking yours. Building our lives on a foundation that cannot be shaken. Help us to lead our families with wisdom, make decisions with integrity, and leave behind a legacy that honors you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
