Daniel Burgos continues the journey through Proverbs with a challenge to stop treating God's Word like a rulebook and start guarding it like something worth protecting.
Proverbs 7 points to a different way to live, but it hinges on a question most men never stop to answer honestly: how much do you actually value what God has said? Not in theory – in your calendar, your habits, the way you treat people when no one's watching. Because the men who fill their hearts with His truth aren't just more disciplined, they're the ones with the wisdom to face whatever's coming.

Gentlemen, every day is a battle. A battle for your faith, your family, and your purpose. The men who stand strong don't prepare when the battle arrives. They prepare before it begins. Welcome to the men's morning devotional. Let's get into God's word. It's time to man up.
SPEAKER_00Welcome back. I'm Danny Wurgos. We're continuing our look at Proverbs, and today we will see how much value we should place on God's laws. Let's open our hearts to his truth together. The man up moment is this. The safest place for a human heart is right inside the boundaries of God's word. Proverbs chapter seven verses two and three says Keep my commands and you will live. Guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. In these verses, God tells us to guard his teachings as the apple of our eye. In other words, he wants us to treat his word as something valuable, something worth protecting and holding on to. Sometimes we can look at God's commands as a list of rules that keep us from doing what we want. But that's not what they are. God's word is there to protect us, guide us, and help us avoid a lot of pain. Every command He gives comes from His love for us. The question is, how much do we value God's word? Is it something we only open on Sunday, or is it part of our everyday lives? When we truly treasure his word, we make time to read it. We think about it during the day, we let it shape our decisions, our attitude, and the way we treat people. Little by little, God's truth begins to change us from the inside out. That doesn't mean we'll be perfect, we all make mistakes, but when God's word is in our hearts, it becomes easier to recognize what's right, turn away from what's wrong, and keep moving in the direction He wants for us. Let's make His truth a priority. The more we fill our hearts with His Word, the more wisdom we'll have to face whatever comes our way. Let me say that again. The more we fill our hearts with His Word, the more wisdom we'll have to face whatever comes our way. God's desire isn't to hold us back, it's to lead us into the life He knows is best for us. Your man up challenge for the day is this write down your favorite Bible verse on a piece of paper or just save it on your phone. Keep it somewhere you'll see it throughout the day, and each time you read it, take a moment to listen to what God is speaking to you through his word. Let's pray. Lord, your word is beautiful and true. Help us protect your teachings in our hearts and guide our steps so we can live for you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
SPEAKER_01All right, gentlemen, you've heard God's word. Now go live it. Lead well, stand strong, honor God in everything you do. Share this devotional with another brother. Remember, every day is another opportunity to man up.
